Vertigo
Vertigo can be defined as a sensation of movement of self or environment. In approaching patients with dizziness, we must first categories them into one of four categories; lightheadedness, pre-syncope, disequilibrium, and/or vertigo. Once the individual is diagnosed with vertigo, it is important to distinguish between central versus peripheral vertigo (Lee, 2012).
