Horizontal Roll
The horizontal roll test is used to rule in a suspected diagnosis of BPPV affecting the horizontal canals.
It is performed by passively rotating the patient's head to the side and observing for horizontal nystagmus.
Canalolisthiasis is ruled in if there is nystagmus that lasts for less than 60 seconds.
Cupulisthiasis is ruled in if there is nystagmus that lasts for more than 60 seconds.
